Description:
Clown loaches are a very popular fish in the hobby. They are extremely playful and do better in groups of 3 or more. They require high water quality so make sure to have a lot of filtration for them. They also need lots of hiding places as they are nocturnal and will spend most of their day asleep in a nook. At dusk you will see them come out and play.
Clown loaches are notorious for a clicking sound they make when they are happy. You will easily be able to figure out what their favorite food is based on this sound they make when they have found it.
Clowns exibit a strange sleeping behavior that will disturb most new owners. You may find them sleeping on their side or upside down. This is normal, although the first time you see it, it appears to be dead. They are also susceptible to ich, so keep an eye on them and catch it early when introducing them to a new aquarium.
