My interest in the carbon filter made me try the DIY that mist did. the cartages are cheep but the housing is cheep too.So I got it too.
Put it all to gether and here is what we learned. Filter
First test water out of the tap.
Second test water from the filter
You can see the ammonia is high in both. Making this filter unexceptable. the carbon will not remove the chloramines.Last edited by troy tucker; 05-18-2013, 05:56 PM.Nothing Kills Evil Like a Sharp Stick...

The carbon cartridges are the same as the ones Mistahoo used in his DIY carbon filter. I know what catalytic carbon is and what it works on. In fact Catalytic Carbon is what we will need.
The point was to show what doesn't work So no one else will make that mistake.Nothing Kills Evil Like a Sharp Stick...

You can easily fix that by buying the more expensive cartridges if you have chloramine problems.
So where to buy the better cartridges?
HD or Lowe's doesn't sale anything better then whats in it.
I should have taken picture of the cartridge too.Nothing Kills Evil Like a Sharp Stick...
