Fishlady and I had a nice visit with Dan and spuds today, and as always we where treated with excellent, well, I wouldn't call it customer service, since Dan treats everyone like family.  Dan it was a pleasure spending time with you again, see you soon.  Remember, my order please, 4 to 6 zebra loaches, and one maybe two of those really nest pleco's we talked about.

Today was the first time we've been in to HAW, and I have to say it was amazing!  The discus are stunning.  It's one thing to see them in photos, but incredible to see them in person.  I don't think I've ever seen such a variety of discus in one place...and I'm sure I've never seen that many looking so healthy and happy.  

I also liked that he has so many different types of fish.  I even had to ask Nick what one of them was because I'd never seen it before!  

I fell in love with the Altum and could have stayed there for hours just looking at them.  

As for Dan, what a great guy!  I felt like we were being welcomed into his home instead of walking into a fish store.  Turns out we have a lot of the same interests...fish (obviously) and photography.  It's not often I walk into a store and leave feeling like I've made a new friend.

And great to see Nick and also to meet Gene!

Dan, those pictures are awsome.....but i can say that they don't do them justice at all....your tanks are always gorgeous.....

I'm really very thankful for all the great comments and feedback.  I never know what to say.  I only hope i can make a difference.  The great thing about this hobby is the friendship created.  It brings compasionate people together regardless of the type of fish species they happen to love.

Went by today, apparently in between when all the other HFB'ers were there! Dan was super, as always. He said he just sent out a big shipment, but would be getting some more in soon.

The Discus in the front show tank were unbelievable. Simply amazing. If you haven't been by, or are on the fence with Discus, then you need to go by and look at this tank. It will change your mind on Discus.

We swung by again today for some tidbits. Now I am on the outlook for another tank.
I am Super Stoked when i see the show,/display tanks in the front of the shop.

I went by for the first time today and saw two fish, what I presumed to be Gnathochromis permaxillaris and Haplotaxodon microlepis. While I was there, Dan was busy talking with another individual. I didn't get the chance to ask him if these guys were for sale or not, and if they are, I'll be back.

Anybody know if these guys are for sale?

If you were not mistaken on your I.D., yes they are for sale....as far as I know.

I went stir crazy sitting in my house so went to Dan's and I know everyone has said he has a great store. I just wanted to add my two cents. He runs a great shop. Everything looked great and I think Sonja and I saw one dead fish. And I left knowing more than when I came in he walked around with me and talked with me about my plans on my new tank and my future Discus tank. I didnt end up buying anything till i finish setting up my tank I will go back and get a CO2 set up and fish. But he didnt even seem to care he seemed like he was happy just to talk and educate me. I would give Dan and his shop an A++++++++++++++++ especially for anyone new to the hobby or trying a different fish.

went there today with a friend. slighty out of the way but AMAZING prices and dan was really nice. got holy rocks myself and a awesome pleco. he offered my friend a custom tank wholesale price. will definitely hit it up again. maybe ill take some of his rams next time. Great experience overall. just a bit hard to find since there wasnt a sign i could see
