This is the best store that I go to they know everything there is to know about fish. They don't sell saltwater fish, but they do sell saltwater supplies at a very good price. I have fresh and saltwater tanks. I do alot of my buying from them and they will work with you on prices.
The best customer service I have ever recieved. Go there yourself and see what I am talking about.
Stopped by xtreme today to check out the petro. trews and tembwe texas and they have cleaned up quite a bit! They have quite a bit of Tropheus now but not sure how long they will last.
Most were juvis....there were some NICE big Mpimbwe's.....others were juvis.....kirizia kaiser, pemba, cherry spots, etc....There was those empress looking tangs like in the "Jewels of the Rift" doc.
The Petrochromis trew... looked pretty good today. The had a pretty good sized Blue Phantom Pleco, some Inspector Plecos, and fairly priced Royal Plecos.
They got a flowerhorn shipment in today is well (for those interested)
I got to see a peacock bass eat an arowanna while I was there. I don't think he was supposed to have done that.
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I was at this store today and all of his fish look to be in excellent shape. The petro trew are very nice and I would buy them if I had the room. As always I received excellent service,
I live very close to xtreme and I am currently looking for a new store....I have had good hardware experiences, they have some of the best pricing....but the fish usually die and alot of their stock is brackish but sold as FW, for instance....my scats, monos, and flounders.....FW for part of the life but they move to brackish as they grow older and mature.
Guy there told me when I asked about ph rebound as I was having issues, "don't worry about your ph, I never check mine" oh dear!!! 8O
I took some fish back recently, that had a fungus.....had it when I bought them just didn't show signs of illness til 2 days later at my house, anyway, guy told me that it was not fungus but other fish nipping at them....BS!!!! I know fungus and they were in quarentine anyway, I told him as much and he replied with "then your water is bad" I have perfect as you can get water thank you!! When he took them out of my tupper ware container he just scooped them out with his hands and tossed them straight into the tank with the rest of the fish  . 3 days later there was only 1 out of 22 fish left in that tank and I doubt the 21 that were gone got sold.
Every fish I have ever gotten from there has been starved half to death and they act like they don't much care about the welfare of the livestock, at least that is the impression they give....A large clown loach jumped out of the tank when I was there once and they were happy to leave him on the floor. I scooped him up, dropped him back in the tank and later I bought him out of sympathy....I mean he did almost land on my feet so I guess he was begging me to buy him....He lived and is a happy snail eating dude!
As far as troubles dealing with a new business, this is his 2nd store, he has another LFS, don't know the name but it is close to Bellaire and Fondren and from what I understand it is older than the Bellaire/Boone Rd store. Never been there but I may go one day.
I say this store is great for supplies but only gets a mediocre at best for the livestock due to the sorry health of most.
