Here are the details of my trip (it is quoted from my website, so some of the names will not make sense)...
Yes those are the actual pics. These discus dwarf the ones that I kept for myself.
Ok, here are the details of my trip...
Len backed out (Jim, you better get it in writing that he will help with your social ha ha ha).
First stop, Fish Ranch II. Awesome store with good prices. They just got a large shipment in as I arrive. They have 1 large blueish discus that I have my eye one...maybe I will go back.
Stop 2, City Pets. Apparantly they have very cheap supplies, but I don't need supplies. Lots of fish, but nothing that I am really looking for.
Stop 3, Xtreme Fish and Pets. Nice store. A lot of everything....including male fastaes. I call up Mickey, but he didn't want to get one without seeing it. I could not tell if they are good or not. They also had alot of fancy plecos including some baby goldys for $50 each. I got my dad a panda goldfish...he will get it tomorrow as a surprise:
Stop 4, Fish Land. Man there prices on fish are cheap. Sterbae cories for $3.50 each, roseline sharks $7, altum angels $25 (I had to pass), I am sure that there was more cheap stuff, but I forget. I cleaned them out of electric blue german rams @$12 each.
Final stop, Thomas's house for the discus. His discus are huge. These are his pets, so he takes great care of them. His blue breeding pair is stunning (the male). I don't have a ton of cash on me, so I only get the 3 that I planned for.
Back to stop 1, Fish Ranch II. I make a deal for the large blue discus (pay with the credit card).
In all 4 discus, 5 electric blue rams, 1 panda gold fish.
On the way back, I stop at a Hardees near Lake Charlesand see SELAS member superq7 ( http://www.selas.us/portal/modules.p...wprofile&u=480 ) on his way to Houston with his family. I give him all of my maps for the fish stores...guess there will be no time for the family.
