Mikes Tropical Fish & Pets...Great Deals for HFB Members

Fishlady and I have been over to Mike's a couple of times now and have enjoyed our time spent browsing over his inventory and sharing coversations about the store and fish in general. I'm looking forward to buying some of my favorite cichlid food from him in the future, it's something Mickey C, turned us onto a few months ago while we where visiting with him in Deer Park I believe?  Anyway, it's called CR45 and comes from a small business out in California called J&J Aquafarms. I look forward to doing alot of business with Mike and Jamal too down the road. Folks they are really treating the HFB members like family, I sincerely urge you all to find the time to drive up and spend some tiime at Mike's when you can.

I'd like to thank Mike and Jamal for making fishlady and I feel so comfortable and actually like a part owner of the store, it's a real treat to visit with you guys and spend a few minutes with you two.

And, on a side note, it was a pleasure meeting up with Cesar finally, I kown you will get that W/D system up and running in no time. Thanks again for the great looking fish.

Got a chance to visit Mike's shop this afternoon.  I enjoyed meeting Mike and browsing in the store.  He has a solid selection and reasonable prices and was genuinely interested in learning about the type of fish we keep, what we could use help with and making us feel welcome.  I will definitely be back soon and I recommend the store to other members.

I drove up there Friday night and got there just as Mike was closing down the store.  He stayed an extra hour for me, we talked and I bought some of my supplies needed and I am getting ready to make another supply order from him and then I am going to get fish from him in a few weeks once I have the tanks up and running and cycled.  
Mike's place is WELL worth driving up to see, his place is awesome and has a lot of potential.  
I will be there the first Friday night of September for the LHA meeting.  
I cannot say better words about Mike.  
He is an outstanding individual, genuine and truly someone who believes in the aquatic hobby world.

PS his Jaguar Cichilds are awesome !!!  Mike I hope you get a tank full there with them :)  They look like great parents :)

I also had the pleasure of meeting Mike Saturday.  I was down in Houston picking up some plants from another HFB member and made a point to check out Mike's place.  I really felt at home there and Mike spent a good bit of time helping me brainstorm how to get my new Odyssea B45 to stop putting so many bubbles in the tank...  (btw, I think I finally got it...)   I am really looking forward to stopping in now and then to see the progress.  The potential is unlimited.

Make sure you get out to see him soon!

i thnk he sells plants, but im not 100%.  he does have a nice planted tank though. donno if its for display or sale.

anyone have any idea when mike is gonna set up his monster tank?

He does sells plants they are in the tank a little further down from his planted tank.

I just got back from Mike's and it is a very nice shop.  He is a great host for sure!  There is know doubt that he has great plans for his shop!  I will look forword to future visits.  He does have some plants also.

I will be heading up to Mike's Saturday morning..  I will most likely stay until about 1:30pm when I have to head back to my side of town for an appointment... picking up hardware for the two tanks I am setting up right now.
