    • Not the greatest photo, but here are all my happy yellow fish

I had just fed them, so they were all swimming around... they look so good in there, and even make the convicts look nice!

Ok, this isn't a very impressive picture- but here's that 60 gal with the new filter up and running, and the few plants I bought stuck in the gravel I'll decorate and arrange it tomorrow, but for now I'm excited to have it functional

        • thanks

The tank came with about 800 of them

I guess I'm a believer in 'work with what you have' )

              • it's a pain... I have one of those long pythons, and push a few of the rocks aside with it so the tube is against the glass, then just kind of push and shovel the rocks out of the way as I move it around the tank, keeping it on the glass. There are usually lots of babies down in there, so I watch out for them.

I was actually going to get some thoughts from you guys, as to if you thought by putting sand or something under the rocks it would be easier to clean (since the mess wouldnt' settle so far down), but I didn't want to take the thread off topic

                  • sand... if you are just cleaning the top of it , it will get compacted and go south...... i would suggest egg crate under you rocks especially since you are moving the rocks around so much

hey man...your tiger shovelnose has nothing wrong with it medically. the little cottony tuft is actually a piece of net. He got stuck really bad this morning so we just cut the net as close as possible.
