Re: Oct. swap n sell
Charles I quote
"Trademan....you have no clue as to the state of HAS and its events. If you think you do, come try being auctioneer for 10 or so hours at FOTAS and you can see what a poor state of affairs it is. I think that would speak loudly to your knowledge of the same. Your assumption of the state of affairs of any club where you have zero first hand knowledge is, other than what I addressed with Walter concerning what should have been done privately, the only idea in this thread that wasn't well thought out and/or sensible. "
My response: I'm sorry I touched on a sensitive spot - however, as a former 2 term board member of HAS, I believe I do have first hand knowledge. Knowlege that HAS currently, while implying, that it is operated as a not for profit, association dedicated to the betterment of the hobby and education of the public regarding our hobby has some very disturbing issues:
1. While I was a board member, not once was an actual detailed financial report made to the board OR the general, dues paying membership.
2. Not 1 single free educational program was carried out - even though TFH magazine was willing to provide FREE setups to us for schools that we wanted to support - the officers killed the idea.
3.Not 1 public fish show was held - though 2 malls were willing to host it for us - the officers killed the idea.
4. The officers also refused FREE legal services to become a legal, legitimate non profit organization.
Charles, I could continue, but I don't wish you or your organization ill - JUST PLEASE, you and your "designated hitters" stop pretending to "help out" other fish clubs in the Houston area and try tending to cleaning your own house first.
