Collection Trip

So here is a run down for the collection trip.

It will be at Alexander Deussen Park at Lake Houston on Sunday June 14th. There is plenty of parking, lots of shaded areas, picnic tables. If you have kids, there is a playground with swings. There is a narrow waterway close to the parking lot that feeds into the lake that is where it will be at. I will try to get the shelter right next to the spot if possible. It will start at 9 but there is no mandate to be there at that time just a time to start as mornings are generally better to catch fish. It will last till the last person leaves, so if you cant make it in the morning I am sure we will still be hanging out and catching in the afternoon. As mentioned in the other thread I will be bringing burger and hot dogs so please let me know either on this thread or PM if you are coming so I know how much to buy. And any donations of food or beverages would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

This is directed at the NASH gods...What is the name of the plant that yall consider the "Holy Grail" when collecting in this area? Kevin told me...but bad memory. I wanted to read up on it.

I have heard you can be fined for not having a license just for handling fishing equipment or caught fish even if you are not actively fishing or close to the water...


for $10 I definitely plan on getting a license.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong as I havent been here before but it says it is allowed just not in the non-rental shelters which is where we will be at (hopefully) so theoretically if you are not in the shelter drinking then its ok.

There is a year to year all water license for $45.00. It expires one year from the date of purchase rather than the end of August.
