I cant wait till the next swap..and next time i'll bring more $$ And once again I cant say enough how a pleasure it was meeting such kind wonderful people
Raul: you didn't try unloading those without help did you?? If you were able to move them at all without help, then you've got some real superhuman strength there. Those things were HUGE!
Grace: I guess I met you, but I can't put a face with the name...
It was good to see everyone there, and meet some of you while putting your fishbox nickname with your real name and face. Not that I'll remember it, but hey - all in due time!
Mzungu: Thanks for the plants and fry! They're happily swimming around in a 10 they have all to themselves plus one of my little girl alleni's and 2-3 ghost shrimp. The girls don't seem as aggressive as the boys, so they should all get along just fine.
A BIG THANKS!! to SCOTT, for giving myself and everyone else there the opportunity to help keep unwanted/unneeded things out of our landfills, while at the same time helping your fellow aquarists grace their homes and tanks with some beautiful plants and fishies, additional tanks, lights, and other stuffs, while also getting a little something for them. And also for giving me a good reason to re-arrange my own fish room .
I had a great time, and look forward to the next one. Maybe I'll have some stuff to offer then!

No kidding??? I've never noticed them doing it before :(. Grrr. I'll have to keep an eye on them then. They're little (bout 1.5-2") so I should be able to catch them before they eat very much.
Thanks for the warning....

"with all the other plants I got that day with 2 clown loaches (to gobble the snails). "
I thought clown loaches do not breed in captivity so I would be surprized to see them in a swap and sell. Did you get the clown loaches somewhere else or did someone just get rid of some they got some where else at the swap and sell or is someone breeding clown loaches in captivity? I guess breeding clown loaches in captivity is the real question. Every once in a while someone does something that was not possible yesterday?
I'll speak on Tiapan's behalf about the guppy grass. Tiapan has it planted in a 65 gallon with compacts and it is growing like crazy. The question as to whether does planted or floating is an interesting question. Tiapan told me that it grows very well plant (and indeed it does!), but mine has done well floating as well. I have it floating in a couple fry tanks and a cherry shrimp tank. It'll will grow in low light situations - one of my fry tanks doesn't even have a light on it. The growth is very slow. Hope this helps.
Tiapan will be back in a week or so...
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
About the clown loaches...I don't think anyone's breeding them, at least as far as I know. I'm thinking she had some already at home or grabbed them from Scott's tanks. He was unloading quite a number of fish on Saturday. :)
The clowns I already had. I got them a while back from Just Fish there in Huffman (on 1960 between 2100 and the lake).
thanks for the tips on the guppy grass. Since I don't have much of it, I'd like to get a chunk of it growing well before I disperse it into my other tanks. With spring on the way (yay, more light!!!) I hope to have some "plant tanks" outside for a constant supply of plants for the inside tanks.
