hi nikki, i will be going to my first meeting this month too. its a social gathering of aquaria minded people where you could talk about the hobby with your peers and get to know some good people. i once belonged to HAW but they are a bit far for me now and I have met some good people who happen to be in GHAC. societies are definately a good idea so that you can hone your xXskillzXx

Which group does/did the acronym HAW stand for? The only thing coming to my mind is Houston Aquarium Warehouse...but I've only been back in the hobby here in Houston for about a year and a half. Is it an inactive group?

I would also say that fish clubs are good outlet to keep from driving all your regular non-fishy friends crazy from hearing you chit chat about the wonders going on inside your tank(s) ad naseum--lol

Hmmm. Write orders to transfer all the pts to the appropriate areas OR/ICU med/surg whatever. Tell the attending on duty to go take a long break--promise you'll call them if something challenging comes up. Once they leave impersonate their voice, call the switchboard and tell them to place the ER on drive by status until further notice...


or maybe we'll just have to wait another month for that proffered but not produced pumpkin cheesecake--hopefully no cinnamon in that thing--I'm allergic. I might try to bake something next month as well.

Oh Lordie, please don't set him off. I was hoping this would be the first GHAC meeting thread without a flurry of Nick 1 emoticon rejoinders to various and sundry Nick razzings.

I remember before my first meeting last May and reading through all the posts in the thread. As I didn't know all y'all at all--I was a little concerned there might be a throw down at the meeting. So now I know this is a monthly ritual you like to play at--but it might cause some newbies fixin' to head over to their first GHAC meeting to think there might be some tension in the group--just some food for thought.
