Not everyone takes an irrelevant holiday and drinks their fill on it like some do. Hell Americans celebrate St Pattys day more than the Irish. Besides its the only weekend in March I can host.

You shouldn't be having second thoughts about going--I'm sure you'll be comfortable. The last one was a bit more interesting than usual hosted by that wild man armthehomeless--copious amounts of shrimp just have a dis-inhibiting effect on some people I guess. But Darbex runs a tight ship. There are often little kids at these meetings--we are fish nerds, not 1% bikers. I would hardly call it a wild party. Its nice to speak face to face with people with a shared interest. The added advantage is that you don't torture your non-fish friends with discussions of how you are planning to swap out your HO tubes this time with slightly different temperature tubes to see if it improves your plant growth. Their eyes would glaze over--ours would twinkle with interest. I love your planted tanks BTW. So what do you have to lose by coming to check it out? if you find 3 or 4 hours into the meeting some people are getting a little tipsy and it becomes bothersome for you, just choose that point to say good night. I rarely drink at these things and if I do its at most 1 or 2 drinks over the evening as I always drive myself, and I have a good time.
