True.....You can explain that part Walter.....this is a hobby for me which I enjoy and would rather not worry too much about the legalities of it. I have enough legalities to worry about with my other hobbies so I would rather not have to with this one.
No problem EK I understand. But they will have to be address before something happens. I would hope that it is never needed. The #1 thing I have learned is CYA.

To answer Walters question. We are working on a basic constitution and bylaws to be presented the next time we get together. Be patient, this club is less than 48 hours old and we are already stirring the pot? Relax a little bit, wait for the meeting, then get up and dance around all you like.
Consider my posts as general information based on personal experiences, and in most cases, far oversimplified. Actual mileage may vary. Don't try this at home. If symptoms persist, contact your physician.
It was announced that most have noticed the interest of a localized greater houston club....then announced that the workings would be worked out and announced on HFB to get a list of who would be interested in it.
So far whatever has panned out here is basically what was discussed at the meeting Walter.
Please keep in mind that Fridays little get together was really a LHA function. Scott, LHA Club Founder, asked those present if they would be interested in a new club that would serve the greater Houston area.
From my observation, though this was unofficial, almost if not everyone indicated interest by a show of hands.
Scott has posted a thread asking those interested to please indicate so. I started this thread for those who did not attend and wanted some information.
As Scott has stated a Constitution and Bylaws are being developed. A date will be posted as to when there will be another meeting at Mike's Fish and Pets. This meeting will be to discuss the new club in more detail.
More information forthcoming.
I can tell you this...One of the most important aspects of this club is to have fun!
Raul I agree keeping fish should be fun along with getting to know others that have the same interest.
I was not trying to start anything just asking questions & making a couple of statements is all.
I just figured this thread was to discuss things about the new club.
Maybe I should have keeped my fingers quiet.

As long as the "business part" of club meetings can be kept short, sweet and to the point, I see no reason why all club meetings cannot be as much fun as the meeting last friday night. In my opinion, all future club meetings should be modeled after that meeting. I understand the need to have some organized structure as far as the collection of club dues and discussions over future aspirations, plans, projects, notices, votings, whatever, but for the most part, I hope they continue to be as fun and project a casual environment.
