So everyone got their native tanks up and cycled?! I'm excited to see what everyone ends up with!
We do have a home for all unwanted/too-big-to-home-responsibly-fish from the trip: a HFB member is wanting to stock his daughter's pond with natives, so no worries there.

And I've been trying to figure out what's on the menu- we're definitely doing burgers, what else sounds good? Potato salad, chips and dip- typical BBQ stuff?
      Sweets lovers- how's carrot cupcakes?

Carrot cake cupcakes sound awesome Sasha!

I'll bring my usual beer, jalapeño/cheddar sausage, and something else.

Afterwards, we can collect some photographs and collection data for the specimens at our place and host the GHAC meeting that evening.
Is this the official itinerary? If so, could someone add it to the first post please?

Btw, I've noticed the walmarts near me have had their cast nets on clearance for about $5 less. Also, if planning on collecting a valid fishing license is needed. A day license can be had for about $11 if you don't want to buy a full year one. Only two people had a license on the last collecting trip I went on but I think the bystanders enjoyed watching Nick and I muck about. A change of clothes or at least a towel and some rinse off water is a good idea as well.

Thanks Beefy for the reminder and I'll update the first post to include the Itenerary/rough schedule of events. We do have a pair of showers and everyone is welcome to use them. A fishing License is legally required for anyone over 16 (I think) and a day lisence will cover everything we will do. There will likely be a few folks observing/watching/assisting and can be just as much fun.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

+1 Anyone that needs some direction on setting up/cycling a native tank let us know and we'll be happy to help! Who will be making it to the Native collection trip? What is everyone looking for? Just interested as I have a half dozen spots I know of and each has certain species that seem to be more common. Plants? Shrimp? Wild Sailfin Mollies (3-6")? Killifish?

                          • Here is a sticky in the Native section, but thought anyone interested in coming might not be aware of the website. These are all native Houstonian fish collected and photographed by a local collector. Many list collection sites and sizes and is terrific for a general idea on colors, finnage and body shapes. It also gives some idea on the diversity found here locally...
