This will be our inaugural year for a Houston area Betta competition. We will be using the IBC standards for our judging. Each person can submit 2 Bettas for judging. The owner must properly note the category they are in, I will detail out a quick guide in the event for a clearer understanding and we will help out. There will be a small discussion on Bettas in general and their care, breeding, and history. Female Bettas and Wild Types both have categories, so really any Betta can be entered. We are working toward developing an IBC (International Betta Congress) chapter here in Houston. This competition is not under strict IBC standards, so awards will not count toward their championship. It will be amazing bragging rights of its own accord though. We will be requiring pre-registration before the event (so we can condense/even up categories as needed).
We are excited to meet your fish and see how they compare to the rest of Houston's fighters! Does it have what it takes to be Grand Champion?
