I was by no means saying anything about anyone who volunteers. My wife and i have been volunteers in some capacity for 20+ years including Ronald McDonald house. i'm a firm believer in public service.

The only point i was trying to make is that we as fellow hobbyist should only be selling stuff we take pride in and would be wanting to keep for ourselves if we had the room or weren't trying to move on to something else.

I have been going for around 3 years and so. It seems to me like there are more and more fish stuff lately. Like he says able., one mans trash is another's treasure. It just takes sooo long for the auction if there are 10 holey and mags. I wish there were a section for fish only, and another auction on the side for the other misc stuff. Maybe it wouldn't take so long. I left around 4 but was planning to just stay til 2:30, which was when my gf left.

wished I could have made it. But I doubt they would have had the fish I want. I like to get Geos and South and Central Americans. Maybe I can find some at the fish stores around town.

They did have some Central Americans, but not Geos.

NO! Let it out! You'll feel so much better. FYI, I appreciated your work with the silent auction items, especially since I won 80% of the turtle items for $1-$2.

I enjoy the auctions - its fun to see what is for sale, and how much people will bid. (Who doesn't love a good bidding war)? And I always end up with the winning bid on a few things!

What do you mean? Were there not many BNs offered? Or did you just win them all with hardly a fight? )

Check-in I promise you can start at 7am and you will still have people putting stuff on tables by 11:30.... and auctions like this one.. no matter how much you prepare to be ready to start at 11.. never can. At 11 usually EVERYONE wants to talk to the Auctioneer at that moment about this and that.. Since I have held two auctions myself with the assistance of others, we ran into the same issues as HAS has had.. I do not fault them at all for being late.
Zulaab - I am not placing fault with the organizers, I think they did a good job under the circumstances. My statement was primarily about the lack of preparation from some of the sellers. Besides their lateness, I saw some fish placed on the tables in 2-liter mountain dew bottles!! These bottles contained fish that were dead!! The lable said "breeding pair of platys" and one was belly up!! It's shocking that this seller was allowed to participate. That said, the majority of sellers adhered to the guidelines and made the show successful.
