Mary Beth this is not meant towards you, but I have a hard time understanding how people will not eat meat but will feed it to their animals.
I also wonder if a vegetarian was on an island or in the middle of the desert, would they kill an animal to survive or just die from hunger?

Mmmmmm, Bambi and Discus...the new Surf & Turf!

Just got off the phone with the American Legion. As of this moment they WILL be cookin' steaks for us tomorrow.

MB - I asked them if they had cheese pizzas and he said that they sell both plain and pepperoni pizzas but wasn't sure what they had in the freezer at the moment.  I promise we won't let you go hungry.

As for your question, Walter, we should probably start another thread for that one, but the short answer is: Basically, we took our "dependants" out of their natural habitat, and in their natural habitat, they eat certain things. Now, if we want to provide the absolute best life for them as we possibly can, why would we deny them something that they absolutely have to have in order to survive/thrive? Dogs are carnivores, their systems are made for eating meat; People, not so much. But that's a different discussion. SO, in summary, one of the reasons I don't eat meat is for animal reasons...which means I like to see animals live...so I feed my carnivores what they need.    But I check the ingredients on everything I buy, just in case there's some questionable, umm, stuff in there that I wouldn't think anything would eat naturally.  8)
