I don't think he used the words "conflict of interest". I was just saying that for brevity's sake. I wasn't implying that people can't be in both clubs.
I was replying in general about the "conflict of interest".  I wasn't directing my comments soley to you.

                Re: HAS Auction worries

Let me clarify. What I said was that I primarily haven't been able to attend because of when GHAC has its events, usually on a Friday or Saturday which make it pretty tough if you work those days. I would have actually like to attend the GHAC auction, but it's pretty hard to leave my shop on a Saturday. Had it been on a Sunday I would have attended. I don't think I ever said that I thought it was a conflict of interest for me to attend a GHAC event. What I did say is that some might see it that way. Please note that when Derric and I were first making the bet I offered to give my speech at a GHAC event, so it's not like I have some sort of standing policy against going. I have no problem with the people that are in GHAC or its current leadership....let me make that perfectly clear. Furthermore, I have supported each and every club in the state of Texas. I go to an average of one auction a month during the year. In this year I will have been to: TCA spring event, TCA fall event, HCCC spring auction, HCCC summer auction, FOTAS 2008, TAKO annual auction, ALA 2008, HAS spring auction, HAS summer auction, HAS summer auction, HCCC monthly meetings, HAS monthly meetings, Christmas parties for HAS and HCCC, Betta Habari auction...I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The point is that I support all the clubs and will continue to do so. I don't expect GHAC to schedule their events around me or anyone else for that matter...but as long as they are on a Friday or Saturday it's pretty tough. I'm pretty open minded about things. I enjoy going to events. I'm going to see Dr. Paul Loiselle speak 2 days after the auction because I'm actually arranging my day off to do so because its a once in a great while opportunity. I play favorites with HAS because I'm the president of the club and I have an obligation to it...just as Raul has to GHAC. I just wanted to clarify for those that might have read the above.
