Sooo... I went out and bought two burmese botia to put a handle on the MTS problem that is surfacing for $5ea.

Go to guide them into the tank's rocky bottom and all the trophs rushed over to see what was going on.

Well poor judgement on their part I no longer have the burmese botias...

I am thinking that EK needs to look into getting like a colony of 4-5" clown's -- else they are just not going to make it.. his Ilangi's are not just veggie eaters... they are the only known pure piranha's :)

I don't like the look of clown loaches with trophs.... I wanted something that did not stand out too much that it would take away from the trophs.

I just need to find larger loaches I guess....

Man, with as many water changes as you do a week, it's effortless compared to that!

- Remove Substrate
- Siphon Wet Dry
- Replace Sponges
- Replace Substrate
- Add Assassins

Bam! MTS gone!

Oh yeah, you got canisters on there as well...they're more than likely nesting in there too. I ditched my FX5.

Lets see....

Drain 100+ gallons of water
Remove 6' halide light by myself.
Remove 44 Ilangis/ 18 Rainbows/ tons of fry/ 20-30 Nerites/ 10 assassins.
Remove 300-400lbs of heavy a## rocks which some weigh in at about 50-100lbs themselves.
Remove 120lbs of eco-complete and let dry somewhere at apt.
Clean and dry 2x 2262s and the pro-clear300 which also houses the mangroves.


Too much work.
I am positive the botia will put a handle on the MTS, just gotta find one big enough.

Yeah the thought crossed my mind for like a split second... then I looked into the tank and remember how much fun it was to tear down the tank to catch fry.

I think they came from my other 6fter before I sold it off. I had put too much substrate in the other tank and need some more to level off this tank and well... there goes that.
