The best vid got kicked out of photo bucket because it was to long. I just finished my next algea scrubber. I will set it up in the sump of this tank. I'm getting rid of all the pond fish but Tims going to let me borrow 8 of those 8"-10" goldfish. they should feed the pond scrubber real good! It looks like I can feed them every 4 days. the screen is already full and it was Thursday night when I shot the vidios.
D- a bunch of monsters. 10 filament barbs,1 lemon,10 trets,1 chinese algea eater, 2 -7strip fronts, 15 reject brichardis, 6 freakish I don't know how to spell, and more? catfish.

The smallest fish in the tank has the sunken gut. won't eat anthing but the algea. Don't want to loose it because I'm sure it's a female. blanched some lettuce NOGO. Norri the fish that eat love it. Oh well only the strong survive. got 8 more coming so I will have to find some homes for some males.
John I think its amazing you grow algae for them. I would not have the patience.
Awesome man...
They all eating flakes now?

It took me several months to get the annectens eating. I had to seperate with eggcrate the ones that would not eat so they would start grazing and then I would put small amounts of flakes in there.
Then after couple weeks, they finally started taking to the flakes and eating that. I still fed the nori and romaine just upped the flakes, then wein off the rest. Used the fresh stuff as treats. Then slowly started on pellets and they took time.
Kent Marine Extreme Garlic also helps some, but it stinks!!

great ideal geoff. going to make a divider. let the none eaters have their way with the scrubber screen every couple of nights. They act scared of the eaters. the fish that are eating are way more aggressive.
by the way the scrubber can be be made for less than $12.00 & a maxijet1200 and only takes 1 hour.

Reason: spelling
I experienced the same thing. The eaters were dominating and terrorizing. So I figured the non-eaters needed somehow to be able to relax and get to eating.
Once I did that I was able to get them in eating flakes within about a month. Just add small amounts of flake each time. Then as they shread the alage, nori, or romaine, they also grab some flakes. Then jsut increase flakes, and decrease the others, and it worked. Took about a month, but once they relaxed and started eating the flakes they were up to speed soon. Now it took more time with them to get them eating pellets at that point, but man I was so much happier they were finally eating flakes regularly.
