For that many fish and that size I would try and get the 3 feedings to equal about 4-6 teaspoons a day. Start slow and then slowly increase the amount as the weeks/months progress.

just noticed a small problem maybe...when I give them the Dainichi they will take it in their mouths but spit it out. they continue to do this for a little bit. Im guessing they are waiting for it to get softer in the water? are they maybe not ready for these pellets yet? I know the guy told Dan he was feeding them flakes before he shipped them, should I try flakes?

Most feed the fish what they were fed before recieving them.


I have always just starved them a day or two and add only a tiny bit of pellets at a time. The fish look to be about 1.5 for the most part so 1mm is on the big side for them.

Also Dainichi is a harder pellet then NLS. Soak them if you must.
