Man for a while there I was getting really worried that I had vented wrong and got stuck with lots of males.

I do think that Petros need more size on them to be sexed for sure.

I do not know if Donald has had fry yet, but Jonathan has. We all got 15 fish (5 trio's) and 16 months later I finally get some..yeah!!

Though I do think I got 6-7 males.

I have only ever lost 1 so and I added a 2 females of my own. So my mix is most likey 7 to 9 or so..

I think you did a pretty good job sexing. I got 14 fish (one of mine jumped before we got there). I have lost a few due to aggression and at last count I either have 1M and 7 females or 2 M and 6 females. And my males is BIG. The female that is holding right now is big also.

          Hopefully mine spits soon also.

2 swimming in there now with a female packing. I was telling Donald the other day that I still have a Syn. Brichardi in there that I keep forgetting about. I have a feeling he's been eating up all the missing fry...

I'm putting him up for sale now in the Fish Market.

So you have only had 2 survive, but a female now is packing?

They've spawned multiple times, but she's never held to full term up until a few weeks ago when I spotted the two fry. I suspect the Syn. Brichardi could have eaten a few others from that batch because before she spat, it appeared she was holding more than just two. Now, I have those two surviving fry and she's packing again. Make sense?

Ihave had several spawnings also over the last couple months or so, and never had I seen spit fry.

I have seen 3 females holding at one time, but none produced viable fry...till now...

Looks like I just joined the "I have petro trew fry" club. I've found 2 babies when I got home today, and mom is still packing.

Have you noticed our peculiar the some of the trews are acting - especially dad. Very protective about around a particular area, which is where I found the fry. I have a picture but not in focus.

I think it is most likely the case of age and size.

All our fish were in the same 2.5 to 4" size when we got them. Mine are all atleast 0.5" to 2.5" bigger than when I got them.

They are also all 16 months older than before. They may have only been 4-8 months old before. Who knows..
