As you can see in the last picture, that is the alpha male who's territory is less than 6" from the Alpha Male Kiku and they BARELY care the other one is there. I find it so fascinating that the Kiku and Chilambo could not care less than the other trophs variant is there.
The second to last picture I said was the alpha, the last picture is any of the beta males looks like him. The majority still show a lot more green in their fins and body.

I have noticed that the lesser males of the Kiku attempts to look like the lesser Chilambo but I dont know what the deal is, the alpha and beta male Kiku can find the needle in a haystack constantly. There is body damage to the Kiku males as there have been fights, the Chilambo only two males ever fight. I have YET to see a fight break out between the Kiku and the Chilambo

Geoff -- I with you, but I just find it strange that so far I have not noticed at all 8 male Kiku attempting at all to hit it with any of the 20+ female Chilambo's

maybe that explains why they leave each other alone.

Regarding the reading, from what I see in my tanks I agree with the conclusion stated in the paper. Whenever I have kept more than one type of tropheus together they have left each other alone. Same like what you are seeing basically. Not saying cross breeding can't take place in a tank but the risk of it maybe lower than people generally think.

Regarding the pictures, they look awsome man. They are in really good shape. Everyone is eating right?

Do you have both bulbs on when you're taking the pictures? I see a little blue tint in them.

Yeah both bulbs are on in all those pictures..
I am going to remove the blue actinic 03 light and replace them at some point with the UV Lighting Company 96w PC 12k 50/50 light when I have a chance.. Need to get the rest of the cabinet too, so the light will look nice.

                              Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
