cause they had to look at you nick.:icon_hang:
No joke, you should give them a second chance. Get like 20-25 small f1s this time and put them in a 90g at least.
They are low maintenance fish. I'm away from home 3-4 days out the week. I let the auto feeder and timer take care of it for me. All I do is weekly water changes. I would watch them more if time permitted but school is killing me these days.I ate my fish that died.

Honestly,
Does not matter if they are wild caught, pond raised, space ship raised or caught naked under a blue moon. They are fish that keep us a hobbyist happy.
I have brought fish from alot of people but have since learn the cycle of how fish are obtain. Old World does not sell junk but to some on here they are kmart rated. That is one reason I stop offering people on here my connection. But a store can bring in the same fish and WOW!!!!. Make no sense...
Most of you experts need to step back and enjoy your fish!

I have 25 of the 50+ Dubs I got from Delock and I still like them as much as the day i got them
They are in a 75 gallon tank with 2 Eheim 2217 and a couple of maxis
There is no aggression and they breed regularly
I dont think I ever asked him if they were TR, PR, WC or anything
All I know is I liked them and he gave me an awesome deal.
I dont have the rest, because i got the bug , and sold them to acquire other trophs
Dubs are Classic
Maybe not sought after now, but classic nonetheless

Tankraised Fish Pro's/Con's - Continued
Having patience is the key. Part of the joy of Keeping Tropheus is watching the fry grow. My favorite Tropheus of all is Duboisi. I love watching the transformation from little polka-dot fish to the beautiful colored adult of blue, black, and white.
This is the kind of patience you must have when raising a tankraised colony.
One very important thing that must be maintained is genetic diveristy. If your intent is too sell fry from the colony, I suggest to you to acuire fish from several sources. Mix in some wild, pondraised, or other tankraised fish. This way your breeding colony of tankraised fish will be varied as much as possible.
I have seen first hand what poor breeding stock can happen. I have seen them in stores and my own stock that had to be culled.
One of the biggest advantages of tankraised fish besides their robust health, is the fact that you can watch and see what fish is breeding with what. This way you can make sure your fry will be a very good quality. You also get the full enjoyment of seeing the fish in your aquaria doing what they do.
Tankraised colonies generally show the best color alpha to omega because only the most dominant fish produced fry. The dominant females will keep lesser females huddled, and the dominant males will destroy or keep huddled the weaker males. So basically your getting the best of the best. This is why so many seek out good quality F1 fry. You are getting the best that the wild fish could offer.
Tankraised colonies are what you should seek out as a hobbyist. You will be helping other hobbyist sell fry, you are buying an acclimated fish to area waterconditions, and your getting a much healthier fish and one that has better color.
My suggestion in tankraised colonies is too always get more than one source of fry if possible, always request a picture of the breeding colony or go see them first hand, and get the water and feeding routine they are acclimated from the seller. This way you will minimize the fishes stress, and if issues arise you can automatically rule out food and water.Last edited by geoff_tropheus; 06-13-2009, 01:02 PM.380G For Sale $3000 Acrylic tank & stand

No matter what we say or believe....the market still speaks for itself.
There is demand for WC, prices reflect such.
There is demand for F1 over F# and TR/PR.
Right or wrong we still have to admit, as a matter of fact, the market shows that WC are more valued.I ate my fish that died.
