Danichi or NLS whats the best in everyones opinions please.

I feed my trophs a mixture of NLS Thera A and NLS Cichlid Formula. I use a mixture of NLS Thera A and Dianichi (the blue package with the Front on it) for my Frontosa. I was always told not to give Trophs a lot of protein, but they love mysis and brine shrimp and knock on wood, I havent had any problems.

How did you come to the conclusion that NLS is "mostly" Wheat now? I don't see anything on the label that states the percentage of Wheat. Don't get me wrong..I like Dainichi, also......but just wanted to know where you got the info. about NLS being mostly Wheat.

Mix 2/3 NLS and 1/3 dainchi. My NLS and dainchi might be 2 different types mixed. same size pellets. Or Different size pellets. Some for babies, some for intermediates, and some for the monsters. Some tanks have fry with monsters. some have intermediates with fry. Some are just fry tanks. I mix them all different. They are both good. Vary the diet. Works for me.

I didn't know Pablo had changed the ingredients. Wheat flour is included in the formulation of NLS but I don't think he would increase the percentage.

In reality it is no more than a single generic fish meal being used, comprised from numerous species of fish. All fish foods require a high quality binding agent, or they would simply fall apart long before they reached the aquarium. Premium foods use as little as 25% binding agent, while lower quality foods can be as high as 50% of middling and flour."

Pablo openly admits that high amounts of wheat is a sign of lower quality food. I don't think he would substantially increase wheat content without providing a reasonable amount of notice to consumers.

I made my first batch of homemade food and they are tearin' it up. Only problem is is that it is messy messy messy! I didn't add a veggie based gelatin to it because I'd heard that you don't need it and couldn't find it.
My Ilangi colony is so shy that they're pretty sure that clump of green stuff is going to kill them. But they go after it just takes them a minute and by that time the clump of food falls apart the moment one hits it with his big mouth.
The moops, kigoma and nangu/chilambo snarf. So do the ilangi fry. But it still is messy. They're poop is different, too. Not white or unhealthy looking I guess cos there's more fiber in it?
I want to mix it up as John advised.

Ultimately I feel they are equivalent.

The puppy Chow is a bit too much protein, though it grows them fast no doubt.

I also like Hikari Excel and it floats.

I think really though,,, NLS is the slightly better choice, but that is just my opinion.
