I can understand your concerns. I have never been too impressed by any of the manufucturers stands. The majority are particle board which tend to disengrate when wet. Which is almost a certainty with a tank stand.

I am sorry if I was short when you called about not needing help. I was going through my own stand debacle at the time. The craigslist seller pulled the used car dealer tactic and played me against another buyer (real/imagined???). He calls while I am on the way and says whoever got there first gets the stand. So I was barrelling down 1-10 like the hammers of hell when you called and more than a little agitated. The only positive is the stand was worth the grief.

But please feel free to call if you need help with the lifting in the future. I am available after 5:30 Mon-Thu. All day Fri-Sun.

I was in the truck Gene D and the Wife was talking to you-as you know. She did not mention you were "short" with her. In fact she thought you were very nice. I appreciate your willingness to help

What kind of stand did you get and for what size tank?

Thanks for the offer-may have to take you up on it. Still have no idea how Wife and I are going to get my 180 on this "Ikea" stand? I'm almost afraid to move the stand when empty tank is on it to square it to the wall. Afraid it's going to collapse.

Just did a W/C on my 156 and 42Hex. What a pain the the arse with well water. you can tell when the well pump kicks on cause you can feel the Temp. difference. So, I have to keep manipulating faucet to get close to the temp, i want.

I was able to pick up a 60X18 32 In tall stand and canopy for a 120 long I plan to replace my 90 gallon with. The construction and finish are very nice. He claims it was built by a cabinet maker(you can tell there was care and skill involved). I would love to go to an 8 ft tank but am limited in size due to living upstairs.

It is not as big as I would like but it should still be an improvement over the 90 for the colony I am buying. I am just having a little trouble getting my schedule to match up with the sellers.

Again feel free to call if you need help

If those stands are anything like the ones Perfecto builds,...ew... not good.

There are a couple people here that will actually build some nice stands. You might consider that a option one day.

I cannot wait to see the tank setup...glad that Gene was able to help you out.

Yep, still black. Probally should have read the back of can too-something about needing to be in a well ventilated area At least I was smart enough to cover my motorcycles with a sheet from all the over spray that did not make it through my nostrils. Oh, and not a speck of paint got inside the tank.
