  • 300 10ft - restock plans..opinions wanted

As some of you may know, I have sold my Kambwimba Red Rainbow.

At the moment, I plan to keep the Tri-Color Petros.

My original thought plan was to move all my Dubs, Rutunga, and Katoto in with them and then move the Annectens into the 180.

Then put the 115 up for sale.

    What would you do?
380G For Sale $3000 Acrylic tank & stand
300G Petrochromis Trewavasae and Tropheus mpimbwe Red Cheek & Duboisi
180G For Sale $1,100 Oceanic Cherry with Stand, T5HO Lights, (2) Eheim 2262
150G Tropheus Annectens Kekese & Ikola

why do you want to sell the 115 first of all?

and I would defiantly leave the Annectens the way they are!

Sounds like a good plan. Your tank line up is very well thought out and organized. I like it.

Any thought on doing this ?
What I am doing is keeping the dubs in your 180 and moving colonies into the two 300's depending how it works out best between the non-Petro's

I know its a lot of work, but without a lot of work you are still looking at wanting to change something.

I figure moving the Annectens out into the 8 or 10ft it will allow them to grow the size they are used to getting.. or bigger :)

looks like you have it figured out!
are you planning on getting a large variant of petro?
longola would be a good choice for one of them 10 footers.
                  petro crazy!!!

definately keep the Annectan's by themselves...no need to take the chance on interferring with their breeding.

He is asking for changes. The longer the tank the more area's for fish to setup territories and more of the chance of breeding occurring. One thing I would like to know if you really want to know is which fish does he want the max breeding occur from ?
Which ones go together and which does Geoff not care if he gets more than one or two fry from ? Like everyone can say is something alone and there is more of a chance.
My 180 looks empty with only 30 fish in the tank, but I am sure that breeding will start happening at a higher rate now that the Kiku are no longer there.

The annectens are important to me, errr.... I mean Geoff. I think they should graduate to their own 180. They are doing awesome in the 115.... think about how they'll do in the 180 man.

Geoff, do what you've been planning forever now. BTW, what kinda filtration and flow have you decided on with the 10 footer? I know you were a bit limited there.

the 10 ft has a 400 gallon rated wetdry with 2-mag 12's. I added to Maxjet Mods one in each corner.

I would really like to see how big I could get those Annectens.
