i like the look of the finished stand zulaab. When i came over this summer it was still a skeleton frame, looks good.

Adults have no caves to hide in. Because I use sand they dig.. and they dig a lot. What I find is they make "pits" where they bring the ladies.
The Alpha male has the right side, right up again the center overflow box, the Beta male is just on the other side of the rock pile. Dead center in front of the tank is #3, and #4 has more territory on the left side of the overflow box. He is the wimp because he will not fight anyone and he will not show colors. The top 3 will fight each other, but the one who has the front side of the right rock area and the one in the back will go at it for HOURS if need to be to show who is boss... the winner so far have always been the same outcome.

Yeah the stand looks awesome. I love it. Just wait to see the 215 I am slowly putting together. IRS is going to have to help me a little to get the rest of the stuff together..
I am going to work with John one of these days regarding a wet / dry setup. I think I have come to the conclusion I am going to have to buy a 55g tank and put two 5g buckets in it with bio-bale/pot scrubbers etc..
Then let the water flow into the 55 and from there pump it back into the tank again.

I have 75% of the parts I need for that.
          Stand built...
          Clean tank
... and when everything is over with.. invite LOTS of friends.. I am going to have to buy a ton of beer... hope MB and Geoff can make it the day it happens.. I really need some of is "skills" .. and newb, dont even worry.. I will find a day you are free... :) :) :)

I like how you deviated from the traditional two rock pile Troph tank setup. The fry are obvious proof the rockscape works. Very nice Jesper

To be honest.. it was the wrong time to take pictures.. and yes you are correct.. I should have gotten better pictures...
If you notice it took the pictures during the day time where there is light from several sources.. and I should have cut that out.
Second I took non with a lens that had more than 75mm in it.. this causes the fact that you see a ton more than you needed and you dont get to see any really good close ups..
I knew from the meeting and other jests at me.. I needed to post something.. I know everyone has been wanting to see pictures.

Hell Yes ! the more the merrier... I will even go in there and scrape down the algae build up on the front glass. Remind me one of these days I have to move some BN's in there.... the front glass suffers way to much

                        I like the break-from-conventional-wisdom-'scaping too.
I know when there's going to be hanky panky by the substrate "calling card" the males leave on their little piles of rocks. The dominant male will also grab a mouthful and go to the edge of his territory and spit it out all over. I've often wondered what type of pheromone soup that sand has....
Jesper, your fish are oh so pretty. I miss mine.
How do the trews do with them?
                        All the best!
