  • sp. black cross breeding with brichardi

First time I seen evidence of this. For the longest time I thought they would not cross breed....guess I was wrong.

I ate my fish that died.

are we certain she wasn't holding already? I've seen females who are holding go through the motions like that.

          That should answer both questions.

I just read that yesterday on TF (had not been there in months). I just shows how careful we have to be if we are mixing variants.

really watch it guys, tryed the mix tank thing, and almost everything crossed, the real shocker was a musunga and a lupota,i would have never belived it also, why im against mixing troph variants now,and theres never a way to be a 100% sure, unless of course you video record the tank 24/7,multiple cameras and angles lol,i will never mix trophs again, unless i dont care about sellin the fry,and feed it to my foai sibwesa lol

theres a RR male crossin with a lupota female

sp.reds are the absolute worst at making hybrids. Stay away fo sure!

I have kept Duboisi with everything and not had a problem at all.

I have kept Duboisi, Katoto, and Rutunga together going on 7 years and not had one hybrid from them whatsoever.

It does have some risk unless it is Duboisi, but if you do mix...the flank color has to be as far apart in color as possible, and have plenty of space, and equal numbers in the colonies to even have a chance, and never mix a sp.red with anything.

It is always best to have them not mixed in my opinion. The breeding and color is much nicer, when they have their own tanks.
