May be it has to do with their reproductive cycle?
It would seem that they have a quicker turnover time between holdings.
I know some Brichardi that I have kept didn't seem to hold as long as Moorii types.
The key is having only one variant in the tank. I got my tanks all setup, with more than one, and the breeding is greatly reduced. And, it also does not help that the brichardi almost never eat fry, unlike some of my other colonies, they are cannibles.
The clutches on my Ujiji group have been large too, like 12-14 fish sometimes per female. My others are typically 6-8.

Another good point to consider is one that Geoff just raised.
The Brichardi are not rampant fry eaters from what I have seen.
The red are the worst at this IMO, they eat anything they can fit in their mouths.
I wonder what the Annectens and Mpimbwe will be like

Several people have been asking me about Tropheus Fry.
4 people in this thread have fry for sale right now.
you might consider talking to them.

The addition of the petros have disturbed them quite a bit but I saw a female with a mouthful today! Soon the petros will be gone as well so I expect tons of fry soon!
I do however have the "Strip Daddy King" Raul coming over this week to gather about 50 Mpimbwe Red Cheeks.
I'll post how many as soon as I get my Hamster 20L aquarium setup.

I got about 15 free swiming right now, and another 5-6 females holding.
He is going to strip the females and help me net out the free swimmers. He also has to bring back to me my Hamster tank.

I actaully got the Hamster tank out of the dumpster and gave it to him and see if it held water. It did, he's using it now though... :P
