I agree... dont do black background.. You wont get the vibrant yellow out of them. I have tried several colours of background and found that a nice deep blue is best. Also white sand works the best too. As for rockwork i use lava rock.. the yellow body and plum face really stand out next to the red. Just my opinion tho. (based on lots of changed aquascapes to find the right one for me).

some of the best Ilangi pics I ever saw was this German dude, who had his Ilangi on all yellow bacground. It was amazing to look at the fishes, but the tank was awful....
