I think you and I have the same camera or very similar, and I complain about mine alot, too. But my main gripe is it doesn't have frakkin' manual focus (well, technically it does but it's on the dial and is so slow that it is a joke for taking pics of anything other than paint drying....and even THEN it may not be able to focus). I was planning on getting a Rebel TI1 in July for a self birthday gift, but I just dropped a lot of money on fish and don't know if I'll have the cash saved up by then for it.
Either way, you make it work dude!

i hear you on the manual deal,excataly right,still life only lol,get that boy friend of yours to suck it up and get you that camera for yor B-Day lol,i just bought my B-day present,its next friday,wild cyp kitumbas from germany,well most are a few from the states also, they need some time to settle in,there a little upset right now and look like crap,oops complaining again.................
