what kind of tropheus

Hey guys my brother just got about 25 tropheus. I don't know what kind since I never kept them before. They are to little but some show a little orange or red already. I wanted to know should I feed them algae and food pellets and blood worms? I saw some youtube videos and some guy say that they're algae eaters and get bloated easily. How many could I put in a 150 gallon tank and should I take the holey rocks out?

NO BLOOD WORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feed them what they were being feed only. If you do not know what they were eating only feed them some kind of flake. Very little. Get some metro or clout you are going to be needing it. I will pm you my phone # I don't want you to get off to a bad start. Good luck.

NO BLOODWORMS. They are herbivores and shouldn't be fed anything slimy. They have a long digestive tract, so foods that are easy to digest are the safest way to go. Any way you can find out what they were being fed before? It's generally a good idea to try and feed them what they are used to eating, while gradually easing them into what you are going to be feeding them consistently. There are a lot of Tropheus keepers around here and I'm sure they will contribute here soon. I personally feed Hikari Cichlid Excel mini sinking pellets, but I think I'm the only one on HFB who does. A majority of Troph keepers feed NLS. A good veggie flake would be a good start for you though. You can keep all 25 in a 150g, and I don't see why you would need to take the rock out. If you are seeing excessive aggression, then yes, removing the rocks might help. But if there isn't a problem, no need to break down the tank.
