I have read reports that people (geoff being one) that have kept tropheus close to 10 years.

    2. How long does it take for tropheus to reach sexual maturity?.

Some sp. will start breeding faster than others. I have seen most start breeding at 8-10 months.

    3. If water conditions and food is good how ofter will they mate?.

Depends on the fish and dynamics of the colony. Fastest breeding time I have personally seen is one month after spitting (or striped). I had one female that would breed, hold for 10 days, get striped, and breed again in 30 days. She did this repeatedly. If you let the females hold longer then it make take a longer time to get them into breeding condition.

    4. How many frys can I exspect from one female each time?

Depends on the sp. and size of the female. In my moori colony I see 6-10 fry per batch. But with my brichardi, I was getting 15-20 fry per batch. Brichardi seem to product the most fry of them all. May be something to do with the fact that their fry are bright red/orange and in the wild they would get eaten so the females tend to produce more.

Good start. Ikola and breed like no bodies business. Give them time.
I ate my fish that died.
