shy tropheus?

well ive had my tropheus for about..half a year now and for some reason they are still shy. they dont come to the glass like everyone else's tropheus ive seen. they js hide in the rock piles and eat food when people are not there. i was wondering how i would get them to come out and be more active like everyone else's tropheus. is it because they are still young? (2.5-3") atm. input and advice please.

tank info:
19 tropheus chimba (2.5"-3")
3 clown loaches (2"-2.5"

tank size: 75 gallon

lighting:
marineland leds

powerhead:

food:
NLS cichlid formula 1mm.

feeding schedule: 3 times a day.

water changes: 1 time per week.

Get a single petro.

That should bring them out some.

Some groups are just shier than others.

My Kachese would do that sometimes, when I would first turn on the lights. You might want to consider some dither fish for them.

Is the tank in a high or low traffic area?

damn thats pretty nice petro. do you kno where i can get one? my tank is in moderate traffic. its next to the kitchen in the dining room area. people go in there and sit at the table and do stuff but not much happens in there.

Take out the rock "caves". No hiding places, can't hide.

Single petro didn't work so far..they all hiding even the petro as long as the light is on..

Man...you got me stumped !! Have you tried approaching your tank with only the room light on ? If they are not hiding with just the room light...then I would think that your fish don't like your tank light . Maybe your lighting is just to bright for your fish .

Let them go hungry for 3 day's. they will come out.
