Hey!  Is it too late to sign on for this?  We'd like to come too.  Me, Davis, and 2 kids.  And can we bring their little 4-wheeler to entertain them while I dig up rocks?  Also, what would be main tools to bring?

Eh...it's a Prius right?  If you get stuck, just get out, put it in your pocket and walk up the hill.

there are alot of hotels and motels right outside of Burnett. Tons of development in Leander Iam sure you would find something there. As far as Liberty Hill goes I really dont think there is much out there, just hit 183s to 1431 and turn left that will take you back to I35 an tons of hotels along the way (about 10-15 miles if that)

Geoff - Just let me know if we end up over the quota of people who can go and I'll just make my cousin bring me some rocks.

No, but seriously, I know this was late notice and will understand completely if you are already booked up.  Just let me know.

I wouldn't think you couldn't go Tracy, but not sure about 4 wheeling on the property for fun.  For retrieving rocks, yes.

It's a 50cc mini 4-wheeler for small kids.  It's the right size for the 5 year old, too small for the 9 year old.  Do you think that would change things?  If it's not a good idea to bring it, we don't have to.  Just a thought.

                      Geoff,

Kids - None..  Weeks where switched on the weekend of the 17/18 Nov because of a birthday and they just continue the every other week thing from then on.  IE Kids are with their Mom this weekend therefore no kids to Burnet.
Other news.  The 4 Wheeler is now in the garage, its a Honda FourTrax Rancher 4x4 ES, with a front winch and gun rack installed.. Should I bring a rifle to complete it ?  (j/KIDDING!!!!!!!)
Tools.. I only have a spade I believe... no other real digging tools :(  So I might be need to be getting some assistance from others.

Again - I am leaving from Katy to go directly to Burnet.  Looking at the map etc.. I would almost say it would be better to meet somewhere in Bertram or Liberty Hill.  I am one of the people who are going to be pressed for time and I have to leave at 2:45pm-3:00pm because I have a major upgrade of the PBX in Houston at 7pm that evening.   I cannot miss that.. then again I cannot miss this.

I am again offering a couch/floor to anyone who wants to stay overnight so to speak at my house.. ie if you are going to the GHAC Party, leave from there, then we drive to my house, sleep get up and then drive to Burnet the next morning.  This would assist people who may not want to drive across town and back again the next morning.  Geoff if this interests you let me know.. ofcource this means you may not want to drive back 20 miles to Aquarium World in the morning.. hehe...

The truck we are taking has a back seat (3 door truck) and can carry two more people if needed.   This is a smokers truck so if you cannot handle smoke then dont ride with us.

We are going to set out from Katy around the same time as Geoff and them leave Aquarium World.  Total distance from door to door 198 miles.  (my house)

We are going to drive I-10 to 71, 71 to Bastrop, where we are going to turn north on 95 to 290.   (95 meets 290 on the east side of Elgin (This is also where I am going to call Geoff and find out where his Caravan is located at so I can see what our time looks like)
** Depending on time... take 95 north on the west side of Elgin to 29 and then head west on 29 to the meeting location OR take 290 to TX-130 which is part of the TxTag system ie you have a Houston tollroad tag you can drive TX-130 and it will be charged to your account there.  I dont know what the toll is going to cost, but since the truck has a tag.. we are not going to worry about it.

Its taken me 30 minutes to write this out trying to remember everything I needed to say.

I cannot find any cost listed there.. but they are a TxTag project which means if you have a toll tag from Houston.. it will work on their system.

To take TK-130 and cut TX-45 over to I-35 will take $5.25 in tolls each way.

We could save $10.50 and take 290 all the way to I-35 but it might add 10 minutes or more..??

                            What do you think Cesar?

                              Geoff your pricing is off.

There are only two plaza's between 290/TX-130 and the Hwy 45/I-35.. each plaza is $1.50 cash / $1.35 Ez-Tag.  IE cash price would be $6 round trip and $5.40 if you have a Houston Ez-Tag.

It is the same price if you take TX-130 to hwy 29 @ Georgetown.  ie I think it will simply be fast to drive TX-130 to 29 and then cut across from there.   Unless anyone tells me BAD idea.

At that time of the day fellas it should be pretty tame on 290, coming back may be a different story.Either route sounds good, It would depend on who has a tag and who doesnt, being that you all have a small convoy It would be a hassle to wait for somebody to go thru the booth because of that.
