I wanna see how some people keep theirs. Here are a few pics of mine. Mine seem to stay dark.

i think color completely depends if the fish feels comfortable in their environment. My blues show amazing color in their new home better than in the 135gal the yellow body and blue dorsal fin really pops out. But they are some that are more darker and show less color175 tropheus Chaitika
125 tropheus Ujiji
90 tropheus Nkonde

i was amazed this morning to see tropheus for sale at my local petsmart for 11.99$. maybe they've always been there and i've just never noticed? or are they gaining popularity? i know i've been thinking about trying my hand with them, i've just always done planted tanks, so it's out of my comfort zone... either way, my point in this is that these are beautiful fish, and thank you for sharing these pics with us.my fish house:

Once u go Trophs is not going back fun to watch !
I will say light , background , rocks , mood of the fish
Dictates how they show their color , I change some backgrounds to baby blue and the canary look really yellow
In the dark background they look like the ones in the Internet black and strong yellow. But Namansi adults are a bit dark125 gal-P. Kachase, simochromis, vampire pleco,bn pleco, bulldog pleco
55 gal- Ilangis ,clown pleco, abn pleco, rubber lip pleco
55 gal-Canary cheek,Ikola,duboisi, and fry
10 gal -fry tank,snails

I've been around trophs for so long that I don't even want to try keeping them because I'd get bored of them quick and end up selling them...
