Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture

Donald and EK, you guys are now on the list for atleast 1 order of Tropheus. You guys can order any Zambian Tropheus you would like, and from those on the list availible right now.

With the PM's from Last Night and the people added since.

            We now have 8 people.

            3 orders on a box of Ectodus Descampsii - QTY : 35
1 order on a box of Cyprichromis Leptosoma jumbo - Variant not picked yet - Qty: 1/2 Box
1 order on a box of Petrochromis Trewavasae - QTY: 1 Full Box of 14
2 orders on a box of Petrochromis Famula - Blue Fin - Qty: 1 Full Box of 14 possible another 1/2 Box
1 order on a box of Petrochromis Polyodon Qty: 1 Full Box of 14 possible another 1/2 box
6 orders on Tropheus but no one has said which variants or how many.

As of right now we are potentially at 12 boxes if all the people ordering Tropheus were to order a different variant.

As a reminder, this order is 100% for the Hobbyist not for anr retailers or for people that are looking to turnaround and sell these fish on Aquabid or in some marketplace or internet forum.  These fish are for your tank, your fishroom.  We are not going into business of doing this or putting any other business man out.  This is for you, for us.

            Take care,

            Geoff

Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture

I would like to order some Tropheus depending on what variant people are ordering. I will want something that is not the red coloration. Keep me in the loop on what type of Tropheus people are going to order. If it is something we want we will get in the deal. I will get with my wife to see if she wants a specific type.

In the sticky topics of this forum Tropheus and Petrochromis CLub, I posted some links to a Tropheus Distribution Map and a number of links to some nice Tropheus and Petrochromis Galleries.

Here are my top 2 choices I would be happy to have:

                      Tropheus nkonde bright yellow

                      Tropheus Ilangi Yellow

Either of those would be fine with me.

Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture

Are the Tropheus Ilangi Yellow on your list the same as the Tropheus Nkhamba Bay common name Ilangi listed on www.cichlidforum.com?  If not, what do these look like?  I would like to look into going in with someone on a box of these if anyone is interested.

These could be kept with my Livua that I bought from Raul once they are large enough without much risk of hybriding correct?

Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture

Nkamba Bay is where the Ilangi are collected.
Different variants are found at Nkamba Bay though, Chilanga, Yellow, Yellow-Orange, Orange.
The overfished variant in the Ilangi Yellow.
No other tropheus variant should be kept with a Red variant, they will cross breed with a snail if given the opportunity.
