I have a question as well, would approx 60 troph's in a 210 gallon tank with a ample filtration, be happy, fruitfull & mulitply?

I push 30 in a 120 (4 footer), I would think 60 in a 210 would be possible but it will depend on length.

From what I understood, Mike was only going to pick up the extra 20%+ in any boxes that we order, but not order extra boxes to get us to the 15.  My assumption comes from the idea that we've been calculating our per fish cost based on the number of boxes ordered.  I think that if Mike were going to supplement the order to get us to 15, the price would have been set at the 15 box price from the beginning.  Again, I'm just guessing, but that how I think it's supposed to work.

What is ample filtration? What 60 are going in there?

Reason I ask is because when you mix variants the likelyhood of only one variant being successful at breeding is high since one variant will dominate over the other or the whole tank will go into defense mode and worry more about holding territory then breeding.

Also with that many fish the water quality drops fast so you need to be on top of it.... I have over 20x turnover rate worth of filtration on my 125g with 40g sump and when I had the petrochromis and babies in there the water quality was marginal when it came time for water changes. 125g with xp3 canister, eheim 2228 pro, and 40g sump with 1200gph return pump along with 50% water changes weekly. The total # of fish during that time was 39Ilangi+19Petros+8Fry.

Filtration Devices I have in mind:

                Fluval FX5
                ProClear 200 W/D
                Emperor 400  (maybe 2)
                Two Odessey 350's Poweheads

I have not set this tank up yet and am open to any and all idea's when it comes to set up suggestions for a large quanity troph tank.

                Thanks

                  The Fx5 is a beast!
IMO I would go with a bigger W/D...I have the ProClear400 on my 125g and it's awesome at handling overflows!
I don't count powerheads in the filtration but I have two Maxi-jet 900's in my tank for added circulation.

Are you planning on mixing tropheus in this tank or will that 60 be a single variant?

Hey everyone..I got good news and bad news for some of you..

First I want to answer a few questions..

                                1.  Mike will not order additional boxes to make 15, this order is for all of us the Hobbyist.  The only fish for his business are the unsold portions of our boxes.

                                2.  Tomorrow at Noon is the cut off for changing your order unless there is a problem with availibility from Africa.  I need everyone to PM Mike (bethesdaboy) with your email, so that he can send you a invoice by Friday.  This will give you the weekend to pay him, so he can place the order Monday December 3rd.

                                Good news and bad news..

                                1.  I believe with a lot of confidence we will make 15 boxes but if your wavering on joining or not, than do so today, so that tomorrow you can drop without causing a problem.

                                2.  Rob and Charles, there is a problem in the availibility of Paracyprochromis brieni Mbita Island  not having a full box.  She only has 21 smalls and 14 adults.  Michelle wants to substitute  Paracyprochromis nigripinnis blue neon adults to fill the box.  I need to know today if this is a problem?

                                3.  Divers are being sent today to collect Chipimbi and Kachese Tropheus

                                4.  There have been the following fish added to the availibilty list.  Take a look to see if interested in any of the following:

                                Bathybates Ferox
                                Chalinochromis brichardi black mask
Cyphotilapia frontosa Blue zambia sizes on request
                                Cyprichromis Zebra Chaitika
                                Enatiopus Melanogenys
                                Xenotilapia Sima Nsumbu
                                Xenotilpia flourescent green

If your interested I will give some extra time in order to get pricing back on them.

There were a few changes to the list, but we are still at 12 confrimned boxes, and 1 in limbo.  I really would like to get to 15 so we get the 40% discount.

I will post an update in a few take care,
