Customs Fee : $250 split evenly by all members. $200 is actual customs for the importation of the goods from Africa and is based upon a percentage of the declared value. The additional $50 is the cost of one tank of gas for Mike's travel to IAH for pickup and return to College Station. The fee for (16) People = $15.63 per person
Shipping Cost : $225 per box spilt by all persons ordering that box equally no matter order size. As long as 12 fish remain in the box ,(aprox.20%), Mike will go in as an equal partner on the shipping. (1/2 of the Box) must be sold to buyers for it to be imported by Mike. $200 of this cost is the cost by the airlines for the actual shipment of the box on Delta Airlines coming direct from Johannesburg, South Africa to Houston, Texas (IAH). $25 is the charge that Michelle of African Cichlids Aquaculture charges for box and bagging, and ground transport to Johannesburg, South Africa from Lake Tanganikya (Nsumbu), Zambia
Boxing and Bagging Fee : $6.00 per Box, $1 per bag. This will depend on order size, typical fish bag will be a large bag that can safely transport (15-20)- 4" sized fish. A box can keep about 3-4 large bags. If you bring your own box and bags, this is not a problem. Charles has offered boxes to people who wish to come and get them. Please PM Charles "marauder_77868" for contact information.
Replacement or Additional Fish : Fish to replace DOA's will be sold at cost per fish to import. Group-buy members can also purchase additional fish at this same cost. This is defined as, the purchase price from the list based upon order size and the shipping price of the box divided by the number of fish that came in that box. Additional fish cannot be purchased until all DOA’s and acclimation looses have been given the chance for replacement by the original buyers who imported the box of fish.
Payment Deadline : 2PM December 2nd (Sunday) pay Mike (bethesdaboy) with Cash, Check, Money Order, Pay-Pal, or Credit Card. Earlier you can make this payment the better. The order will be placed when 100% paid in full. If you do not pay or make arrangements with Mike you will be automatically dropped from the order, and next in line gets a shot.
Sales Tax : 8.25% will be applied to all Texas Residents for sale of merchandise. All tangible items such as fish list price, and items required for bagging and boxing will be taxed. The Customs fee and Shipping cost from Africa cannot be taxed for these are not actual merchandise.
Actual Order Date : December 3rd
Delivery Date into Houston : After 5pm on December 14th
If you local Pickup on Delivery Day, NO DOA policy will be extended. You will be 100% on your own.
Acclimation Date and ready for pickup : December 28th**Could go early on some fish, if acclimation is doing really well.

Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture
The unsold portions of each box will remain unsold unless someone buys them and pays for them by Sunday.
Otherwise, the unsold will first go to DOA, and accmlimation deaths first. Then at pickup time, you can buy additional fish if all the DOA's and Acclimation deaths have had chance to be replinished.
DOA, and Acclimation death's will be drawn from a hat. No one will loose 2 before all have lost atleast 1. This also includes the unsold portion.

IT was a lot of work. Trying to manage all this turned into a little partime job. Nothing sucks more than when your hobby is starting to look like a your job or something. :axe: It's my Hobby not my Job!!
Now Mike has to print up nice little invoices and send them to you...It's his turn

Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture
Who would have thought that you would have had 400+ posts and porbably at least that many PM's to deal with in less than a month when you started. Thanks Geoff for setting this up.
:musik:
And thank you too, Mike!

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
Re: Direct Import from Africa - African Cichlids Aquaculture
We would had about 420 if I had not deleted or moved some of the other stuff in here.
I learned that even though my imbox says 100% full, you can still get atleast another 20 PM's before you have to save or delete PM's You might even get more than that, I was just worried I might not get someone's If I didnt start making some room in the "inbox."
