Thought I'd post some pictures of my new Wild Simochromis Babaulti, had them for just a week. I've wanted some of these for a while but Simochromis don't appear very often over here. I would love to hear about others experiences with them.
If you strip them you will have 1,000's of fry. If you don't dad will eat every fry in the tank, including petro fry. I like to put a big petro in the tank to run herd on them. The dominate simo in one mean mofo. Your petros will keep him in check. Maybe have a hiding spot up top in the back by the trim. A place for the beat up sub-dominate males to recover. Great fish and enjoy.
Thanks for the info on Dad been a likely fry eater, there in with 8 Texas Bulu Petro's which I was hoping would supress some of the murderous tendencies of the Simo's. i know from experience that the Petro's would kill the fry but not the Simochromis males.
