  • base for thin flat rock

talked to the tall italian man at fish are us. he gave me a good ideal to make flat rock stand up. drill small holes along bottom and weave in and out some small stainless steel welding rods,so they stick out a little. more the better. make a card board box thats a couple inches bigger all the way around.mix portland cement fill the box. angle it up a little. then take crushed coral and pat it into wet concrete for looks. let dry for 10 days.remove cardboard. then brush with vineger to clean. then rinse & rinse. i think this might work. what do yall think.

sounds reasonable that it would work.

After it is dry, you might want to soak or wash off any loose material.  Also, over time, the concrete will boost your pH so you might want to check the pH in that tank more often than normal.  Even though, your fish will enjoy a higher pH, just also be aware that at a higher pH ammonia will form faster.

Just stay on top of your waterchanges and this should be no issue.

      Hope this is of help...

The pH also susceptible to crashing as the concrete cures in the water if there isn't any buffers.
