    Re: Tropheus Aggression

    Thump his Arse!

If it was that bad then I guess you couldn't do anything about it.....maybe a big mean petro will help him settle down?

    How are the ikolas?

      Re: Tropheus Aggression

I'm just about to the point where a good thump is doable.

I thought about a Petro.  I heard that having a Petro in with Trophs is supposed to calm the aggression.  Don't know if it's true or not....

The Ikolas are totally settled in and colored up.  Didn't take as long as I thought it would.  They sure are beautiful.  I want some more!!

EK - So did you spend a lot of time with the Ikola?  They are very personable.  And they keep staring at me.  Like, right now, I just turned my head to the right, and here they are just staring at me.  I like it, but it's weird in that I keep having that feeling that someone is looking at me.

          Re: Tropheus Aggression

I had them for maybe 2wks and they went right in with my ulwiles with no problems as well!

I have been observing how trophs feed with various variants/owners and all of mine seem very personal! Everyone dumps food in and they go scattering for food but I feed mine pinch by pinch so they are conditioned so that when I'm there they should be too if they wanna eat.

At least that's my explanation for it.

Those ikolas have been pampered for as long as I have known and have never had much problem with others picking on them so that might have something to do with it?

            Traci,

I am very gald to hear the Nkonde on Nkonde agression is under control.

The Kachese and Moliro combo is going to be trouble one day for you.  If you see any signs of spawning with the Kachese you need to take out the single Moliro ASAP.

Got Ikola's now??  Excellent..Duboisi, Moops, and Ikola are my personal favorites.

Yep!  EK was kind enough to think of me when he needed to rehome a couple of Ikola.  :)

They are amazing!  I've contacted Mike to see about getting some more.

I'll keep an eye on the Moliro.  I haven't seen any courting up to now.  There is a dominant male Kachese in the tank who tends to keep everyone in check, but not in the 'I'll f'ing kill you!' way that the Nkonde dom does.  Either way, as soon as the loft is done, we can start setting up tanks in the other room.  I'll figure out who he can room with then.  I may post my list of Trophs and their numbers and have you guys suggest placement.
