1.  Get EK to bring his friend Navarro with him... I heard he is a wiz with getting plants to grow..
2.  Get Mexican beach pebble rock or Tennessee river rock...  I am sooo making a tank one of these days with these rocks.

The only problem with piling a bunch of those on is the detritus pile up you will have underneath.....in your case delock it might not be so bad since you have a set of output/return on the glass bottom but it still might not be enough to keep it from settling there.

EK -- I thought the same but what you do is just get a small mini-606 or something like that.. and then once a month or more put a hose close to the area to blow it out into the tank where you can then later that afternoon suck it up in a water change..

Delock -- I know where you can get the Mexican Beach Pebble in Katy -- $0.24/lbs
That is where I saw it first and I was thinking DAMN that is some nice rock.
I am prolly getting another small (42g cube soon) to house some Sunshine Peacocks that I own, which I am going to buy Mexican Beach Pebble and put in that tank, making a stack so fry can run in and out of that area and survive :)

True but having some rockpiles in my tank already and seeing how it piles up it would really cause a spike in nitrates....I do twice weekly water changes and have close to 20x turnover rate going through my tank and it still piles up pretty heavy in my tank.

The best way to have it is to incorporate either a undergravel jet system or have a powerhead under there to keep detritus from getting in there in the first place. I don't even have that much rock piled up and it gets pretty thick in the crevices.

I can see using a mixture of Colorado River Rocks and the Mexican Pebble stones in my next aquascape...

I am thinking that would make it look really cool :)
I got to start building some stuff up over the next few days myself.. I will try and take some pictures next week when I got it up and running and show off how good/bad it looks :)

Yeah...I was picturing 3 large colorado rocks with mexican pebble rocks spread around the base of the colorado rocks.

Discounts ?  I am going to go shopping this weekend I am pretty sure :)   I will need to get some rock.  Usually I have to go in the morning on saturday because its the only day they are open where I go and they close around 2pm on Saturdays.
