I have recieved fish that were overnight, and same day, and only once have I ever recieved one that was dead in the bag.
My point on this matter is that unless your buying from a professional, hobbyist shippers sometimes do not bag very well if they are not experienced and sometimes cannot ship using a major airlines for a direct unless they have paid money for setting up an account.
Hobbyist shippers typical use overnight DHL, FeDEX, US POSTAL, or some other express delivery.
He got his fish from a hobbyist, that was able to use Delta, and the package had to make connecting flights which had delays and was coming from Illinois. My only point was temperature could have played a factor in why half the order arrived dead.
Why else in a direct flight would 3 fish per bag packed fish arrive 50% DOA? Either packaging or temperature would be my only guess.
