      Re: Dainichi cichlid food

I had a feeling it was just leftovers bagged for "store use only" plus having a mix of them all and not knowing what formulas are used doesn't sit well with me.

I'll stick to paying the amount for real bagged stuff.......heck I have paid good money thus far what does it matter.

        Re: Dainichi cichlid food

I mix 3 types of sinking pellets for my mobas.  I use NLS Thera A, Dainichi Ultima and Dainichi Color FX.  I keep the mixture of all 3 in a rubbermaid airtight container and store the food in my refrigerator.

I double bag the rest in ziplock freezer bags and take as much air out as possible.  I store this portion in my freezer.  It keeps very well.

I got the dainichi order in last week. I was suprised the 3mm were pretty big in size. and the baby pellets are a little bit bigger than NLS pellets. The fish love them both though

Dainichi is hard to find in Houston.  I ordered mine directly from Dainichi's website............Dainichi Ultima and Dainichi Color FX.

                    Re: Dainichi cichlid food

Check out Fishland for Dainichi. Andy keeps a pretty decent selection of their products.

Andy has been nice to me so far and he will order it for you if you want it. I get my veggie FX over there so I know he has got it. I also get a few other Dainichi products from over there and he is willing to work out a better price if you are buying frequently or a good amount.

On a side note, anyone ever noticed that all the bags list the exact same ingredients on all the various types.
I have got Veggie FX, Color FX, Veggie Deluxe and Reef veggie FX. I have looked at the Ultima and Primary Krill and all list exactly the same thing.
There are sometimes differences in the analysis breakdown, but the ingredient list is EXACTLY the same for all their stuff.

In fact, I have to admit that when I ran out of Veggie FX for my chimbas one time, I fed them from my reef tanks 160z. Reef Veggie FX bag until it was gone (abought a month) and then bought the Veggie FX. They never noticed a thing, ate just as heartily and no bloat or anything...
