Do me a favor and ask Alex for the product analysis and ingredients if possible.
How much did you mix with NLS or what other food?

That's the problem with putting Trophs in Ponds. You never get to see their colors, or if they got issues.
Is you plan to just pull out all the Trophs from the pond fry and all in the winter and put them where?

delock-i would acclimate those fish a little slower than that to the chow. maybe more like 10% to start. every couple wks go up 10%. you dont need any bloat problems.- john
Yes around the first or second week of November, my house should be complets and the tanks should be all set up inside as well as the fish room.
I will bring them in until the week after easter. That is when the weather is warm enough for them to go outside.
That's the plan for this year.
I've had the Red Rainbows for about 3 months now and just looking at them from the top view, their colors are much better than when I origionally got them
An idea I had that when I build my next pond, I will put a large piece of glass on one side or part of the side so that I can view them better. Just a thought though.
I think I am going to try doing as you suggested with the 10% per week.
I was wondering how did you start in the begining, when you got the fish from Alex. I know Alex feeds Aquarian Tropical Flake and Hikari Excel. What did you do, to get them started?

Oh yea, it is definately too cold from December til around April. I've had 4 heaters in them outside and it still isn't enough. Sorry to go off topic .
I'll like to know the mix percentange of the puppy chow as well. Wondering if it is an even mix of foods
It is the clear bagged pellets he has on the last row next to the office.
They might be dark brown, could be black. Not sure...

I have a friend of mine who buys these "black" pellets from Alex and he told me that they are a high protein grade food he makes at his store.
I have always wondered what it was called.. this is why I am asking. His Malawi's LOVE the stuff.
I have never seen the bag because when he buys it he transfers it into a clear plastic container which has a good lid on it.. (so the cats or dogs dont rip into the bags)

i start with 5% and increase 5 to 10% biweekley. till about 50-50. slower the better. my porches are covered. i leave my fish out year round. 3 or 4 heaters per pond. if it is going to be below 60 degrees. i cover with 6ml plastic. with clamps holding around the edges. air tight. freezing outside and the pond is a perfect 79 degrees. i've had rouge pineapples trophs outside for 3 years. sorry to get of subject- john
