    hi,

Has anyone on this forum order from Little Africa Aquatics from the Trophs.com website? If you have, could you tell me what your experience was like?

    Thanks

I would ask the moderators of that site about their new sponser, I'm only guessing, but I would think it is a member of that site or someone fairly closely associated with it.....probably a good guy...

I have spoken to them before.   I have never ordered anything from them, but they have a high rating on feed back on Aquabid.
      Their online ratings are :

Buy and sell aquarium equipment and aquarium fish on AquaBid.com. Sign up and begin to buy and sell - auction or buy it now..

      Overall Feedback Rating: 104
      Positive Feedback Percentage: 100.0%
      Unique Feedback Rating: 72

I hope this helps in your decision.  What are you looking to order ?

        Thanks for the feedback...

Don't get me wrong, I would rather prefer to buy from local breeders (Aggieland would be the furthers I would drive.. ) due to shipping, picking my own fish, etc.. but many local breeders don't have the varieties of tropheus I like.

Which Tropheus are you looking for ?  I would be interested only in knowing what you are looking for and the knowledge of what you may later be offering up :)

            Zulaab,

lol! I like your "knowledge of what later be offering up" statement..This is assuming that once I get my colony and they do breed...

But in all seriousness, I did put a "want to buy" add on the "Fish market" section... I would love a colony of Red Rainbow, Ikolas, Ilangi, or bemba.

            Do you know anybody?

As far as your list goes, I know SCOTT on here used to have Bemba Flames.  Not sure if he still does but if they are still in his possession, I'm sure that they have bred by now.  Geoff_tropheus could probably tell you where Ikolas and Ilangis are if they are not in his possession.  If memory serves, he keeps both of those.  As far as the Red Rainbows go, couldn't tell you but I'm sure that Mike in Aggieland or Alex from Ulitmate can find them if they are readily available.

Most of their business is aquabid.....I have contacted him for gobies once and seemed to be straight forward about what he had to offer but honestly....the price and cost of shipping I rather purchase from a local.

I agree on that. I talked to him to inquire about some T's , but it was a little high so I passed

There is a keeper's list as well as fry available list tacked in the Tropheus & Petrochromis club sub-forum.

Yeah, I forgot all about that since I don't frequent that forum.  I was just going off of memory....LOL.

Well I guess we should start to realize that with age we must wean off of relying on memory......

                            Re: little africa aquatics??

I dont keep Ilangi EK does.

I keep Ikola, but no fry are for sale at the moment.

The other two types, Red Flame Bemba, and Red Rainbows, I currently do not know who got John Jolleyu's Red Rainbow Colony, or I have no one in the club or anyone local I am aware of that has a colony of Red Flame Bemba that is producing fry.

I believe Tim also had a colony of Bemba's but not sure.

I will tell you this...In all my years of importing fish, the very best service and luck I had was with Peter Rubin at Atlantis Tropical Fish, and even though he can be a jerk sometimes, Chip Speagle at Bluechip Aquatics usually has the best pricing on fish.

I would buy from Mike at Texas Tropheus or Alex at Ultimate Fish before I whent looking into the internet land.  This is because they have nice fishes, and you can go look at them before you buy.  Carlos at River City Aquatics in Austin, has some nice fish also, but man his prices rival what you would see at Fish Gallery or Aquarium World.

                            Geoff.
