I am running the Tunze 6060 but once the new Hydor Koralia Magnums hit the market I think I am gonna switch it out.

I had a motor fail in a Koralia 4 only after 1 year.

My opinon of the Hydor stuff is kinda low right now...

Yeah, there was a recall on the 4's not too long ago....maybe you missed it?

The new magnums are really impressive....3200gph with only 19w consumption.....that blows the $400 ecotech out of the water if the pricing is not the same. Right now I am running the Tunze 6060's but thinking about redoing my overflows, swapping out my 6060's and going with a controllable Tunze coupled with the Tunze wave box.

dude do you have a link to the recall?

I spoke with City Pets and he told me about 1 out of 6 to 8 gets returned.

Then he asked for reciept, and I looked at him like what a .$#@%@

Anyhow...

Just wanted to update......

The single TUnze 6060 was quite impressive but did not create the hectic amount of flow I was hoping to get....I installed both the 6060's I got but still it was to much of a "push" then anything.

I was offered 4 Tunze 6025 nanostreams which have been modded and push approx. 1200gph each so I now have these four in my tank at the four corners which will alternate to create the flow I am wanting to get......installed them just now and have to  say....It's like a washing machine in my tank now!!!!

So to this is what I have as far as circulation in my Ilangi tank....

Mag12 return 1200gph
Eheim 2228 350gph
Rena Xp3   350gph
3x nanopowerheads 250gph x3
4x Tunze nanostreams ~1200gph x4


= ~ 7450gph in my 125g!
= ~ 60x turnover in circulation!!!!!!

I think this just put a lot of Reef guys to shame  8)

Well if you guys would have read....with all four running it's like a whirlpool but I have them on timers so that the flow is switched from corner to corner to give it the "back/forth" wave and they seem to love it!

Their colors have gotten a lot brighter from what I have seen so far and when it comes to feeding time they are much more aggressive.

Its on a wave timer set within a few minutes and sometimes a few are on at the same time.

This is only on during midday.


Looking into the vortech or Tunze wavebox soon to get the full wave effect! If you don't know search on youtube for various videos of "wavebox".
