    Re: Tropheus moorii Golden Kazumba

Mark had said in Cichlid Forum, that only Toby Veal and the Brichard Family have breeding operations on the lake.  The rest only have holding tanks for whats collected and then to be sorted and shipped out.

      Re: Tropheus moorii Golden Kazumba

The problem is they cannot go and explore most of the congo side of anything, especially in the northwest side.

Most the Congo side is just about 100% off limits practically suicide to go there.

About a 1/3 Tanzanian side is protected national parks and it takes serious money to get permits to go in there and collect.

Its not so much Pirates as it is the private militia's and the rebels.

You go in pay one group to enter, then the other comes over wanting more money.

But I thought Toby Veal and the Brichard Family  were located on the northern part of the lake!

Here is a very interesting article I found about Toby, Ad, and Laif from 1998.

                    Nice reading...

Had me really scared for a moment there. I thought the answer was "Back in the lake!" So, even though it's not ideal, at least they're not throwing them in the lake!

Just had to comment on that.

                            Re: Burundi Farms - Discussion

In most cases culls would be deformed in some way that they could not function......in the wild natural selection has a way of taking care of "culls".

They might be functional fish, but their color is completely wrong because they are inbreeding the defect.
